Ye Hole in Ye Wall pub is on Hackins Hey, it can be found in “a bit of a jigger (small road)off Dale Street opposite North John Street”.
Dating from 1726, this is the oldest public house in Liverpool, standing on the site of a 17th Century Quaker Meeting House. Unusually, due to its history, the cellar is actually on the first floor. More recently – as late as 1977 – this particular haunt became one of the last to open its doors to women.
